CARN NA SAOBHAIDH WIND FARM UPDATE | RES (DEVELOPER)

From RES (15.07.26)

“We are writing to provide a short update on activity relating to the Carn na Saobhaidh Wind Farm proposal and details of the first public consultation events, planned for 21st and 22nd September 2026.  To summarise the exhibition details, we will hold exhibitions as follows:

·  Farr Community Hall, Inverarnie Park, IV2 6AX – Monday 21 September 2026, 1pm – 7pm

·  The Strathdearn Hub, Tomatin, IV13 7YN – Tuesday 22 September 2026, 1pm – 7pm

The events are drop-in at any time.  Nearer the time, we will place adverts for the events in the local press and also send out invitations to households and businesses.  For those unable to attend the exhibitions in-person, the exhibition boards and feedback form will be available on the project website www.carnnasaobhaidh-windfarm.co.uk on 21 September 2026.

Our exhibition will be in the Main Hall of Farr Community Hall just ahead of your Community Council meeting, also scheduled on 21 September at 7pm.

Project Update

As you are aware, we first announced plans for Carn na Saobhaidh in November 2024 and wrote to the Community Council to introduce the proposals. Since then we have been carrying out studies on the plans – we first proposed 29 turbines at a tip height of up to 200 m.  Following further studies and investigation, we will present plans for 24 turbines at a tip height of up to 200 m, with an overall site generating capacity of 172.8 MW and we will have more information at the exhibition events.”
