Our mission is to invest in the community in order to empower the current and next generation while respecting our heritage. We do that, by seeking community values, creating action plans and seeking necessary resources to invest in the future and provide long term, sustainable benefits for the community.
About
SDC is a community development trust for Strathnairn. Similar organisations are found in many communities across Scotland. Community development trusts working with their community to address local needs through community-led initiatives. SDC was incorporated as a SCIO in 2019. It is the only community body in Strathnairn able to launch applications under the Land Reform Acts, and commence Community Asset Transfers under the Community Empowerment Act.
SDC is a two-tier SCIO with a Board of Trustees drawn from a membership comprising residents of Strathnairn.
