Fancy a ‘Fiona’? | Community-led walk up Carn Na H’Easgainn / Site of Lynemore Wind Farm
Friday 23 May 2025 @ Departing Farr Hall at 1.30pm for arrival / start 2pm | Distance 4 miles | Ascent 307m | All on easy landrover track | Estimated time of walk 2-3 hrs
SCC have secured the 8 seat SCATA bus. Along with this there are two cars which can transport 4 people over (so a further 8 people). Therefore we will meet at Farr Hall for a collection at 1.30pm to arrive 2pm, and an approx return at 5pm to arrive at 5.30pm. Owing to the A9 construction works it will help to take fewer vehicles over. If you wish to take up this offer of transport, it will help to know in advance / book in / this will be numbers restricted; and if numbers are looking high ideally others may come forward with a car share offer. However if you need to go straight to the hill – owing to direction of travel for example – turn off the A9 where signed for Lynebeg. Just after the cattle grid, there is limited temporary / contractors parking to the right (next to the skip) and before the houses; we have sought consent from the ground works contractors working on the A9 to park there. Meet there to start the walk.
You will need (summer) hillwalking kit, water, snacks and sun protection.
