Ness Beaver Project Update

çon the Ness Beaver Project, noting that responses had stopped in late November and that they reached out to key organisational stakeholders before Christmas.

Since the New Year, they have been finishing discussions and analysing feedback, which shows strong support but also concerns about the potential impact on farming.

Techniques exist to manage any impacts on farming, and a drop-in day reserved for farmers and crofters will address their views and concerns.

The project is developing a strategy for beaver release locations and timings, which will be discussed with NatureScot and may go through several iterations.

There is a possibility of submitting a licence application to NatureScot in the coming weeks, but further investigation may delay this if new issues arise.

You are invited to drop-in events on 11th February at Glen Urquhart Hall and 12th February at Dores Village Hall, both from 2-8pm, to learn more, ask questions, and provide feedback.
