Aberarder Windfarm Grid Connection Project 7 – 11 Sept 2026

The project team has provided an update on progress with the Aberarder Wind Farm Grid Connection Project.

Ground investigation works associated with the proposed Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) access track have now been completed.

B851 access improvements are scheduled to take place from Monday 7 September to Friday 11 September 2026. The works will involve surfacing the access from the B851 to the forestry road and are being carried out as a preparatory step ahead of future project activities.

The works are expected to have no impact on normal use of the B851, with no traffic management required. Access improvements will be confined to the road opening and access track.

During the works, there will be a small number of vehicle movements, including HGV deliveries associated with the excavation and surfacing works, together with daily 4×4 movements for site staff.

The project team continues to work with the relevant planning authorities and other stakeholders to ensure that the necessary consents, licences and agreements are in place before construction activities commence.

Further updates will be provided as the project progresses. The project team has also offered to attend a future Community Council meeting to provide more information and answer questions.
