Power up your career in renewable energy with our funding opportunity

Are you a student passionate about a career in renewable energy or a business looking to upskill or reskill your team in sustainable energy in the UK?

If that’s you, we’re here to help!

We’re excited to announce the 9th UK Support Scheme for Sustainable Energy Studies, offering financial support to students and businesses committed to a stronger, more sustainable future. But don’t wait, apply before 13 November 2026 to secure funding!

In 2025, we supported eight students from communities around our UK wind farms. They used our funding to cover expenses like accommodation, course materials, laptops and travel. This year, you could be next.

  • Know someone studying renewable energy? Encourage them to apply
  • Are you part of a business that could benefit from sustainable energy-related training? Spread the word about this funding opportunity

At Nadara, together, with nature, we power lifetimes to come. But together with you, we can also help to power the future of renewable energy.

Eligibility criteria

  • Applicants must be 16 or over at the start of the course
  • Eligible applicants are those individuals living or studying within an approximately 50-mile radius of our wind farms, located in Scotland, England and Wales (you can consult our site locations here).
As part of our sustainability strategy, we strive to support the development of new talent in the local communities that host our plants. Therefore, priority will be given (but not limited) to applicants from the areas surrounding our wind farms
  • Applicants must be studying for a qualification that would help them gain professional skills, knowledge and competencies that they can use in the renewable energy sector. Be clear in your application how your studies are aligned to this sector
  • All applicants must complete the application form, including details of a referee supporting their application
  • Evidence that the applicant is registered and attending the course will be required before any funding is provided

What the fund can cover

The 2026 fund will be allocated between the successful applicants. Successful applicants may not be awarded the total requested amount, and the final awarded amount will be at Nadara’s discretion.

The fund can cover expenses that assist candidates in completing their course. Eligible expenses include travel/commuting costs, course materials (books, software), connectivity costs and equipment. The successful applicant must provide receipts or evidence of all their expenditure related to this award.
