Farr Gala Thanks You

Brilliantly attended, what a fantastic day was enjoyed by all! The support from our community was nothing short of incredible. We hope everyone who came along enjoyed it as much as we did.
We kicked things off in style with Ardross pipe band, setting the perfect tone for the day.
That was followed by the first ever Farr Gala hill race, superbly organised by Graham Bee, and spectacularly attended. We were amazed by the turnout as no one, least of all Graham, expected such brilliant numbers for its very first year.

Throughout the afternoon, our entertainment didn’t disappoint. Our live bands, Eilidh and the Energy and Paul Martin, were wonderful, and a special shout-out to SMI, it was a real treat to see the students shine on stage.
The gala market tent had a real buzz and it was great to see so many local vendors and stalls thriving.

FANS were incredibly well supported and raised a fantastic amount for our lovely school – thank you to everyone who donated or took part in their fun activities.

Strathnairn Connect worked tirelessly to keep everyone supplied with cake and coffee all day. They raised a great sum for this vital community group.

A huge thank you goes to our brilliant MC, Jonny Porteous. Jonny led the day perfectly, his support both before and after the event was hugely appreciated.

A special mention to the Toddler Group, who pulled together a last-minute play area – a huge hit especially with the littlies of our community and definitely something we’ll be remembering for next year! The Sports Committee kept the kids entertained all afternoon with very funny and energetic events.

The Boule competition got a little competitive (in the best way!), and the champions left, very happy with a bottle of bubbly – thanks to Mark for organising that.
Our lovely pet parade, judged expertly by Eva and Jo, brought smiles all round, picking winners among those waggy tails couldn’t have been easy!

Our food and drink vendors were over the moon with the support they received – a massive thank you to everyone who stopped by for a bite or a drink.
Thanks to the SCATA team for letting us use the bus for picking up and dropping off residents and also to our lovely driver for the day Allan.

And finally, a heartfelt thank you to those working hard behind the scenes – Ian Maclean, Phil Mackintosh, Thomas MacDonald, and so many others. Your help in the run-up to the event was invaluable, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
To the SCBF for funding this incredible event for our community – how lucky we are to have this backing.

The Gala truly brought together all ages, from toddlers to grandparents, and the atmosphere of laughter, sunshine and music carried right across the field. It was community spirit at its best, and a reminder of how lucky we are to have so many willing hands and hearts making days like this possible. We’re already looking forward to next year. Saturday 12th September 2026 – make a note in your diaries! Let’s make it even bigger and better!
