Have your say through SSEN’s Aberarder Local Fund Consultation >
£785K, will be allocated and awarded locally.
Your input – as people who live and work in the host community of Strathnairn – is needed to best determine the outcome of this; in first shaping and designing the upcoming ‘Aberarder Local Fund’.
Note: This project comes under Transmission or Network Connections; rather than Generation (SSE’s Aberarder Wind Farm).

SSEN Transmission is working to create a new local community benefit fund for communities closest to the Aberarder Wind Farm Connection project. The fund will open when main construction begins and the value of this fund will be £785,000. It is important to us that our local funds are designed in collaboration with the communities closest to transmission infrastructure.
To do this, we will be holding three in-person and one online consultation events to gather views – see below for further information. The aims of this consultation will be to define:
- The area of benefit for the fund (i.e. where the funding should be available)
- The priorities for the fund (i.e. what is most important to your community and how the money should be best used)
- The structure of the fund (i.e. how many years the fund should be available and what level of funding should be available for community projects)
An online survey also opened today and will close at 5pm on Friday 20 November. We would welcome the thoughts and views of all community members who live and work in the Strathnairn community council area. We are also keen to hear from organisations that support communities in the area.
