Carn na h-Easgainn selected as the final ascent to complete ‘bagging of’ all of the UK highest peaks for Glasgow based climber Laura Baillie.
Scottish climber Laura Baillie, 38, has completed the “full house” — all 1,072 summits recognised by the Scottish Mountaineering Club across the UK and Ireland. She is one of a fairly rare breed; as it takes real grit and many, many days on the hills, in all conditions to achieve what she has.
“I left that one for last so that friends and family can join. I left them a super-easy one, it’s an estate track all the way up.”
Laura finished on Carn na h‑Easgainn (2,025 ft / 617 m) in the Highlands. She chose this local but easily accessed hill so family and friends, including her 89‑year‑old grandmother based in Tomatin, Strathdearn, could join her at the top.

Climbing Carn Na H-Easgainn is well worth it and leaves you rewarded with expansive and unspoiled views over Strathnairn, Strathdearn, the Moray Firth, Ben Wyvis, Black Isle, Cairngorms and more. As such it is a hill of choice for many locals, based in the Strathnairn, Strathdearn and Inverness communities – for running or walking and more – given its ease of access off the A9.
