Ness Weir II – Community Consultation Events

Statera Energy (UK) Limited is proposing improvements to the existing Ness Weir (Dochfour or Telford Weir), located where Loch Dochfour, the River Ness and the Caledonian Canal meet at Dochgarroch, about 7 km southwest of Inverness.

The Ness Weir II project aims to:

  • Raise and strengthen parts of the weir and embankments
  • Install new control gates
  • Create new fish passes
These changes are designed to help manage Loch Ness water levels more effectively, support renewable energy, protect habitats, and reduce flood risk.
